Jääportit (translated as "The Gates of Ice" or "The Frostportals") is Tuomas M. Mäkelä (keyboards, programming). Originally formed in Finland in 1997 as Tuomas' solo project, Jääportit works somewhere in between genres like ambient, darkwave and progressive electronic using both synthetic and natural sounds to create frosty, fragile, bewitching, polarizing, deep, atmospheric, transcendental, moving, serene, layered, esoteric, powerful but soothing music to keep you afloat in the astral stream.
