Formed in Waterloo, Ontario, Winter Equinox was a mainly instrumental quartet whose music had elements of post-rock, electronic, glitch, and experimental sounds. The band placed an emphasis upon heavily layered arrangements to create intense soundscapes, combined with occasional lyrical melodies and catchy bass grooves. The group consisted of Lauren Yakiwchuk, Robyn Yakiwchuk, Dan Roberts, and Brad Weber.
