Vesuvius is a fictional 80s hair metal/hard rock band from the movie, "The Rocker" (2008). The name is a reference to the volcano Mount Vesuvius, which is located besides Bay of Naples in Italy. To promote the movie, the song "Promised Land", as performed by the fictional band Vesuvius, was released as free downloadable content for the video game Rock Band, which is shown being played in the movie.
