The Hurdy-Gurdy Band was formed in 1979 when Donald Heller (NY, USA) travelled to Budapest, Hungary and married Anicét Mikolai. Since then, they have performed throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. In 2000 they were joined by their sons, Gaspar (spinnet) and Julien (violin). From the very beginning, The Hurdy-Gurdy Band has been as concerned with traditional performances that combine music and theater.
