Little is known about Jack Kelly, the hoarse-voiced singer of the Memphis Jug Band. What is apparent from his music is that he took influences from the various musical types of the time, with a heavy nod to the blues. His entire recorded history last from 1933 to 1939, at least his entire recorded history as it is known.
It is supposed that he played, with various incarnations of his band until the 1950's, but no recordings exist to this authors knowledge. Jack Kelly died in Memphis in 1960
