Monks of the Balhill is a French experimental duo consisting of sound artists Vincent Caylet and Vincent Fribault formed around 2007 in Pierrefiche, Aveyron, France. Cunningly spinning elusive apparitions of sound from an assortment of sources, Monks of the Balhill have struck lysergic gold. Seamlessly welding minimalist, drawn out guitar passages with atmospheric melodica and vocal incantations. Further into, dreamy pop psychedelia is toyed with before the floor drops out from underneath, engulfing everything in a restless sea of drone.
