Ras Charmer was born in Kingston and attended Morant Bay, Oberlin and Kingston Tech. High Schools. At early age, Ras Charmer started singing at various events at churches. schools, concerts, etc. and was a member of an R&B singing group, up until after he left scool. At this time he becomming a true rastafarian bobo ashanty. That its when he began chanting sweet redemption music. Ras Charmer joined Togetherness Records in 1998 and began his music career with them, recording songs such as “togetherness” and “mama” which have a video still showing on Jamaican TV’s.
