The band was originally Børre Michelsen - vocals, Ole Walaunet - guitars, Johan Alme - bass & backing vocals and Kjetil Greve - drums. The 11th of May 1996, Deride had their first gig at the local Rock Pub 'Garage', where they impressed everybody with their raw, untamed force. The press described the gig as one of the best debuts ever seen in Bergen.
