Germany based The Ruby Sea were formed in January 2002 and named after an album made by the American band Thin White Rope. Their music is of the traditional and "new" Americana style, a mixture of Rock, Country, Blues and Folk.

One of the largest influences is idyllic Americana culture, musicians such as Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown) or Mark Olson (Jayhawks, Creekdippers), whom with their art, present an opposing view to that of the imperialistic America of G.W.
