The Intima, formed in 1999, is a four-piece band from Portland, Oregon and Olympia, Washington, featuring Alex on drums, Themba on bass, Nora on violin and some vocals, and Andrew on guitar and most vocals. Suspicious of kitsch, nostalgia, and the cooptive nature of capital, they will tease you with a skittering tension and challenge you with a critical vision. In the autumn of 2000, The Intima released their first EP, No Lullaby for Sleep, on San Francisco's Zum Records.
