Daughters of Mara, a hard rock/metal band out of Los Angeles, CA have recently signed to Virgin Records. The band's music, as featured on their myspace page, is a mixture of melodic cutting edge hard rock and metal. Comparisons could be made to Bloodsimple, Disturbed or even System Of A Down. The conceptual essence of the band is derived from the Buddhist personification of evil (Mara) and the story of her three daughters who represent desire, lust and aversion.
