There are at least 5 bands named the Puppets. One was a girl group from the 1960s, who had the hit "Ain't Gonna Eat My Heart Out". One was a New Wave synthpop band that came to prominence in the early 1980's with their hit "The Way of Life." Another is the collective genius of three young ladies from the Coventry/Leicester region. They formed in 2005, and have since being playing their "cacophany of happiness and sadness" at gigs in the Midlands and London.
