At the age of eleven, twenty-two years after the death of the phenomenal guitar-player Jimi Hendrix, Bas Paardekooper was struck by the sound of ‘Hey Joe' coming out of his grandma's stereo. Bas immediately took up his guitar and made an arrangement to this classic song, which had just opened the door to his musical career. Fed by records, cassette tapes, video's and, not in the last place, the musical environment of the Paardekooper family, Bas mastered the basics of Blues and Rock guitar.
