The band's formation was announced on May 20, 2011. The Miracle Worker Songfacts reports that the band's name came about after Damian Marley started riffing the term "SuperHeavy," inspired by Muhammad Ali being the Super Heavyweight champion of the world, and the phrase became the band's catchphrase.
