James "Jay" Kevin McGuiness (born 24 July 1990) grew up in Newark, Nottinghamshire. He attended All Saints RC School, Mansfield. At the age of 13, McGuiness went to Charlotte Hamilton School of Dance. He has a non-identical twin brother called Tom and three other siblings.
