Flatline Skyline is the collaborative project of Robert Andrew Scott and Jacen Kemp. "The two musicians began working together in late 2002, shortly after meeting in a science fiction literature class in Virginia. Their early recordings were live and highly improvisational noise experiments. However, a strong sense of melody and structure always lay beneath, and over time, the fusion of these elements grew in scope to become the group's primary focus.
