Momend is an indie folk band formed in 2009 in Rīga, Latvia. The band came together under Kārlis solo act. Having performed on his own for about a year, Kārlis Strūbergs was joined by Normans Bārbals on drums in the end of 2009. Performing as a duo, they took part in several band contests, played a lot of concerts in Rīga's venues as a support act for recognizable artists as Oldseed, Tim Holehouse, Goran Gora, Anete, Martin Confused, Kārlis Kazāks, Andis Grīva, and Alise Joste. During the time, the name Momend was made.
