God Ate My Homework was a band formed by UC Berkeley students in California in 1997. Homer and Hobbes were roommates in the school dorm during their freshman year. They started making music together, and by their second year they began asking people to join their band. They were one of the first bands to release their music for free over the Internet using the MP3 format, at a time when MP3 became a more popular search term than sex.
