Margarita Hranova is a Bulgarian pop singer whose songs have been appreciated by several generations. 2006 is a jubilee year for Margarita – she turns fifty- five, completes 35 years since she’s been on the Bulgarian pop stage and has over 300 songs in her repertoire. She completed her formal musical education at the Pop Music Department of the State Academy of Music. Her solo career took off in 1972 when she won second prize at the Golden Orpheus Pop Song festival in Bulgaria and the Special Prize of the Jury at a Pop Song Festival in Alexandria, Egypt.
