Obscure old-time rhythm and blues band the Four Clefs is known today for a few of their singles from the World War II era that still resonate with modern fans, including the song for the troops "V Day Stomp". Said track was written by band vocalist and singer-songwriter John Green (also known as Johnny Green) in 1944.
